VARIABLE STAR NEAR UGC 3664

T. Puckett and G. Sostero report the discovery of an unknown
object (mag 18.1) on CCD images taken with a 0.50-m reflector at
Ellijay, GA, on Mar. 16.02 UT in the course of the Puckett
Observatory Supernova Search; the new object was confirmed at mag
18.1 by Puckett on Mar. 17.02 and is located at R.A. = 7h05m35s.65,
Decl. =+33o47'42".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 26" east and 118"
south of the center of UGC 3664. A prediscovery image taken by J.
Newton on Mar. 5.15 at Portal, AZ, shows the new object at mag 17.3.
Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on
Feb. 7 (limiting mag 19.0) and over the last six years (faintest
limiting mag 19.5). Also, nothing is visible at this location on
several Palomar Sky Survey plates (red, blue, and infrared)
spanning 1953 Nov. 11-1999 Nov. 9.
