Photographic positional observations of Jupiter and the Galilean satellites by means of a long-focus astrograph in 1975
Authors: Levitskaia, T. I.
Affiliation: AA(Ural'skii Gosudarstvennyi Universitet, Sverdlovsk, USSR)

Photographic positional observation of Jupiter and the Galilean satellites were made in 1975 with the Ordubadskii long-focus (F = 10.3 m) astrograph. Observations of the position of Jupiter were compared with the ephemeris of the Astronomical Almanac of the USSR, and observations of the positions of the satellites were compared with the ephemeris computed using Sampson's theory. It is shown that Sampson's theory leads to an accurate determination of the satellite positions.

Positional observations of Jupiter's Galilean satellites at Ordubad during 1984-1986 are reported. The correction for Jupiter's solar phase in the coordinate difference 'satellite minus Jupiter' is studied. The best correction is implemented on the basis of the geometric law with the coefficient Kx = Ky = 3. The internal error of a single observation of each of the four satellites is obtained from a comparison of the coordinate differences with the G-5 theory.

Title:   Investigation of the astronomical climate in the Ordubad expedition of the Main Astronomical Observatory of the USSR Academy of Sciences during 1983-1985
Authors:   Ryl'Kov, V. P.; Bobylev, V. V.
A statistical reduction and a comparison of astronomical climate indices during 1983-1985 of the Ordubad (Akdara) and Kislovodsk expeditions are made. According to the state meteorological standard, Akdara had 121 bright days and Kislovodsk had 75 bright days. The mean wind velocity is 2.8 m/s, and the average temperature is +8.3 C. The total time of bright nights is 1721 +/- 85 hr. According to heliograms, the total time of sunshine is 1806 +/- 18 hr, and the number of bright days is 161 +/- 3. The rms error of tremor is 0.29 arcsec for Akdara, as compared to 0.33 arcsec for Kislovodsk.

Title:   Results of observations of Mars satellites at the lunar-planetary telescope of the Ordubad expedition of the Pulkovo Observatory of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1986
Authors:   Kiselev, A. A.; Kiseleva, T. P.; Bobylev, V. V.; Dement'eva, A. A.; Mikhailov, A. V.; Shakht, N. A.; Shor, V. A.
Results of positional photographic observations of Phobos and Deimos taken with the lunar-planetary telescope of the Ordubad expedition of the Pulkovo Observatory are presented. The observations were made near Mars' opposition during June-August 1986 by the trace-scale method. The observations were compared with Shor's (1976) numerical theory constructed on the basis of numerous observations during 1877-1973. The agreement between observation and theory is about 0.5 arcsec.
